8 Easy Summer Decorating Ideas

Lighten the look of your home for summer with these easy, breezy and fun decorating ideas.

1. Colorful art swap and pillow swap

Light colored canvases with a beach like feel and flowery paintings create a fun summer atmosphere.

An art swap : I snatched this succulent framed canvas from my entryway to layer in my kitchen nook.

I added this succulent canvas for a summery feel

Another easy way to add a pop of color is through a quick pillow swap. Think vibrant floral pillows by Eskayel or coral and soft blue pillows by Serena and Lily

2. Summer Tablescapes

This is my favorite part of decorating! I just love throwing together pretty linens, florals, and dainty dinnerware. I am really feeling soft aqua blues, whites and pretty silvers this summer. Always with pink. Glasses with etched patterns contribute to elegant summer flair. I am actually in the process of writing a blog post devoted all to an awesome 2018 summer tablescape but for now I've picked some of my favorite items for dining bliss.

This carafe and tray below by Juliska are also some of my go to items for summer entertaining. Just love the delicate and french country feel of Juliska

A gorgeous flower box like the one in the gallery below by Tassels Home Decor is a must!! Love how this creates a fun and vibrant look, and you can either use her amazing faux roses (really can't tell they are faux) or add in your own combination of shortly cropped stems.

Adding floral napkin holders to a tablescape is a great way to introduce color without any real commitment, like painting a wall chartreuse for example. Click the gorgeous summery tablescape below to visit this awesome blog.

3. Arrange backyard flowers

Small groupings placed near each other create a more romantic look than one large arrangement. I love low cut florals in a unique material for a vase, like cement or copper. Start snipping those garden flowers and bring them inside the house!

4. Strategically place a mirror outside

This will reflect the pretty greenery and nature around your patio area and brighten up your exterior walls.

**If you live in a cold weather state, make sure to move it inside once summer ends to prevent cracking.

5. Light up the night!

Throwing up some string lights or hanging paper lanterns can add to a summer evening ambiance. I love the brand Sunnest for their amazing high quality and bright solar powered LED lights, including both their fairy string lights and garden pathway lanterns.

6. Place a drink station in your dining room or patio

Refreshing and summery, a drink station complete with glasses, pitchers and some fun drinks is all you need when guests come over!

7. A Macrame swing

A fun and whimsical way to make your home feel fresh and Summery. I styled this particular swing by Sorbus Outdoor in my sunroom. It can be easily hooked inside or hung off a tree outdoors.

8. Use Pineapples in decor. Anywhere.

Summer in an instant once you add a golden pineapple to your styled trays or end tables. A pineapple lamp suggests warmth and tranquility. Also, a fun new trend this year popping up in stores is a pineapple cocktail shaker.
